		<description>Dear Senghuho,
apparently I did not explain well.
In my opinion Finland does not should take care for the meat consumption. If you really want to help Finland (and a great part of the world) try to avoid the abuse of alcohol, coffee, candies (or sugar).
I contest your video that you made. At the beginning says that in a supermarket you always find beef and dairy, but not mention about COFEE, CANDIES and ALCHOOL.
Everybody knows that Finland is the first country for coffee consumption (x person). So try to avoid to import coffee means to save a lot of CO2 emission! Also if you limited the coffee consumption by the people you can avoid also some diseases.
It is really surprise me to watch a video that says “the consumption of meat has became double from 60s and it is not surprise that 50% of Finns are overweight and 20% is obese” (there is also the image of Hesburgher)
Sounds a marketing strategy to say to the population, if you eat meat you become fat, in the subconscious of the persons arrive this message. Instead no mention concerning the alcohol abuse perhaps the alcohol consumption make you fat and all the diseases connected with it, there is a long list.
It is really surprising me that this video is make by a scientist a colleague, the etic rule of a scientist should be to find the true and publish the true, not advertisements.
Continuing to watch the video I can conclude:
Around the meat there is a big business, (it is probably easily to control) and someone is pushing to try to consume less meat therefore force the person to consume other expensive products, (this is my research thought, my  opinion)
There is a big business around candies but apparently only the meat make you fat,
There is a big business around coffee but apparently nobody talk about the CO2 emission that could be avoid
Nobody talk about the CO2 emission that could avoid if you do not extract lactose,
There is a big business around alcohol but nobody talk about because the first probably is the government that want you drink expensive alcohol drinks with high taxation.
So I would like that someone at the breakfast says:
I would like that Finland population drink only ½ liter of beer per week 1 bottle of wine per month and 1 bottle of vodka (high percentage of alcohol) every 6 months. This rule would make healthy the population,  avoid hospital costs there should be a less consumption of water, because and correct me  if I am wrong, the beer is made by water and if you assume a lot of beer then you should have to assume a lot of water.
But apparently me and you we cannot get pay anymore so the government should tax other stuff.

Try to reduce the products with lactose free, so we save the world with less CO2 emission
Try to avoid the candies consumption they are completely useless in the human diet, they are dangerous and anyway again you save a lot of CO2 emission.
Again less coffee consumption.
At last but not the least we live in the country with the highest percentage of degrees and so on so on, but apparently nobody has an opinion or does not want to write a comment on the web page. Nobody could thought that the video is sound like an advertisement. (sorry if I repeat it but there are a lot of wrong parts). So nobody will say anything at the breakfast, I am sure and the history of this country will confirm this.
Sincerely.

		<description>Dear Christian

Sorry for my late reply. I apologise. I was in Belgium for meeting some possible collaboration opportunities for my research.

Thank you so much for your comment. Four very interesting points. I will answer you presuming that you meant &#039;consume&#039; when you said &#039;assume&#039;. Correct me if I am wrong.

First, your observation of S and K&#039;s near-monopoly is true and it&#039;s very Finnish context of 2012 and therefore this study shall be conducted in different countries as well in order to address the beef issue, which is why I call this project Beef Finland 2012.

Your second point about lactose, in my humble opinion, is unfortunately irrelevant to this project. However, it will be interesting to see how much of CO2 equivalent emission occurs due to shipping German or French cheese compared to that from production of cheese will be interesting. I can assure you though that CO2 emission of shipping beef compared to that of production of beef is not at all significant as methane gas emission of beef production is much greater.

Third, you are mistaken if you think that Finnish beef is solely made in Finland. As addressed in the video, 95% or more of cattle feed in Finland are imported soy and other crops from abroad that leads to a much greater green house gas emission compared to the beans or tofu you might consume. In the past, Finnish cattle were fed mostly on hay, but now they are fed on imported soy and other crops in order to cut the price due to the market pressure both nationally and internationally.

Finally your observation about candy is correct. Sugar is as problematic as beef and it comes from the fact that they are so cheap. I hardly think that we can ban sugar because with moderation sugar is very important part of our culture. Sugar is not only in candies but also in tiramisu or buns and the problem is not only candy but the sugar intake per capita as a whole. In this sense sugar also has systemic problem as beef – soy, corn and other crops are being exploited and exploiting people in so-called underdeveloped economy, so is sugar. Sugar, indeed, will be one of the lenses I will take with my doctoral study.

Thank you for your comment, I apologise again for my late reply. I hope this helped you understand my project a little more. Please come to the researchers breakfast meeting on 12th of December. Here&#039;s the &lt;a href=&quot;http://us6.campaign-archive1.com/?u=ff586af064283d8f245a720f4&amp;id=b3d34240d2&amp;e=4f62341a76&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;link&lt;/a&gt;.

See you soon.

<description> Here the full text, sorry it seems that works with this browser
Dear Seungho,

I watched the movie, it is really interesting how explain the situation, the global warming, climate change, the meat consumption I also read fast the topics shown on the web.

I would like to comment the movie and do some questions.

It said that the project could be applied at a country such as Finland because the high rate of instruction.

I supposed that all the stuff that are explained are true but in my opinion this project is applicable to Finland only because more than 80 % of food market is controlled by S market and K market. So in Finland there is not chose, there is not competitiveness, it is easy apply this concept.

Another thing the movie said that Finland consume a lot of milk, more or less 1 kg per day. My simple question is way they continue to take out lactose from milk and cheese. I am not sure but it seems that does not exist a Finnish cheese with lactose. I continue to buy French and German brand, for instance, and in this way buy food that come from other countries with increasing of CO2 emission.

Third thing I am Italian so I can say that consume around 100 kgs of meat per year, three times the suggest consumption by doctors. So if I start to consume let s say 35 kgs per year what happen to my body? With my diet (own fabric) I lose 10 kgs increasing protein assumption decreasing carbohydrates and a constant vegetables assumption. I really do not want convert the noble amino acids present in the meat with other kind of protein. I know that there are bean with a lot protein (not noble) but in some cases this food come from other countries sometimes also extra EU, with increasing of CO2 emission.

Fourth thing, the movie said, you always find meat and diary but avoid to say that in front of the cash (before to pay) usually there is a wall of candies!! Instead to reduce the consumption of meat, try to forbid candies and chewing gum and let see what the statistics are going to show.

Anyway, I hope to have a answer as soon as possible in my opinion they are not take into account important factors and I really hope that nobody constrain me to assume less meat. I hope to consume the food that Finland produce.

I look forward your answer.

Regards
